    A team of delegates from Kenya composed of the Kenya Leather Development Council (KLDC) staff and Board Members visited ALLPI. The Team was facilitated by UNIDO to visit the leather-based enterprises and industrial parks in Ethiopia. In Addition, visiting ALLPI was part of their mission plan. The Team of visitors was led by the Board Chairman of KLDC and was assisted by the CEO of KLDC.

    The objectives of the Kenyan Delegates visit to ALLPI were to pay courtesy call to the Executive Director of ALLPI Prof. Mwinyikione Mwinyihija, who has recovered from serious illness and to get briefing about the activities of ALLPI in the Member States and specifically in Kenya.

  • Prof. Mwinyihija Mwinyikione Receives Honorary Doctoral Degree from the Sudan University of Science and Technology

    Prof. Mwinyihija Mwinyikione, Executive Director of ALLPI, was awarded Honorary Doctoral Degree from Sudan University of Science and Technology on Thursday February 15, 2018.

    The University conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University honoris causa on Mwinyihija Mwinyikione for his outstanding contribution for the development of the leather sector in the COMESA region in general in Sudan in particular.

    Prof Mwinyihija holds four PhDs, in Environmental Science (Ecotoxicology and Bioremediation related to the Tanning Industry) at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK; DSc in Remediation and Tannery Waste Management from the Atlantic University, USA and two other Doctoral degrees in Management from SMC-University, Switzerland UCN-Nicaragua. He is an internationally recognized Scientist in the field of the leather industry.
