• ALLPI held Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop for SMEs in Bujumbura, Burundi

    Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute (ALLPI) organized a training of 30 SMEs as ToT in transformative Entrepreneurship, Footwear and Leather Goods Design, Craftsmanship, Export readiness, Costing/Pricing and Record Keeping at the Kamange Artisans Production Center, Burundi, from June 22 to July 4, 2022. The training workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Transport, Industry and Tourism, Burundi, under the BADEA Technical Assistance grant. The purpose of the training workshop was to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of SMEs to attain growth through shifting their mindset and embrace changes, enhance SMEs technical capacity and economies of scale to supply both Public and Private Sector institutional buyers.

  • Rwanda Leather sector SMEs receive Technical Support to boost Productivity and Competiveness

    Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute (ALLPI) continues to intensify efforts to boost its member states Leather sector SMEs Productivity and Competitiveness.
    This intervention is made possible through the grant funding support provided by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA). The support comprises provision of “basic equipment for footwear production” and “capacity building Training in Footwear and leather good Design, Craftsmanship, Export Readiness, Transformative Entrepreneurship,  Costing and Record Keeping”

  • TOT on Footwear and Goods Design, Development, Manufacturing Craftsmanship and Export Readiness kicked off at the Leather Institute of Zimbabwe (ZIM) Bulawayo

    Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute (ALLPI) in collaboration with the Government of Zimbabwe Ministry of Trade and Industry started the TOT on Footwear and Goods Design, Development, Manufacturing Craftsmanship and Export Readiness at the Leather Institute of Zimbabwe (ZIM) Bulawayo on August 29th, 2022. The Training aims at enhancing  SMEs competiveness, access of their products to the domestic and export markets, and the mindset shift of their operating attitudes through learning the fundamental dynamics and principles of:

    • Footwear  design and development
    • Manufacturing Craftsmanship,
    • Exports Readiness
