KLDC stand during Nairobi International Trade Fair, 2013In line with its strategic goal of enhancing market access for leather and leather products, KLDC participated in the Nairobi Trade Fair, 2013 from 30th September to 6th October, 2013 at Jamhuri Park, Nairobi. This year’s show theme was “Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry for Food Security and National Growth” and the KLDC booth served to demonstrate the central role of the leather sector in promoting National Growth and Rural Development. The KLDC booth was judged in two specific categories: “Best Small Traders Stand (Commercial and Industrial) and the most striking demonstration of locally manufactured products.”

The KLDC booth brought together 10 exhibitors in the leather and leather product chain in a dynamic exhibition that sought to showcase the diversity and culture-rich Kenyan leather sector. Products on display ranged from interior décor, leather items and accessories, footwear, garments and corporate gift items that catered to the needs of the local, regional and international population.
Exhibitors under the KLDC booth included: Zeeban Designs, Adelphi – The Leather Shop, Local Footwear enterprises (including Anchor, Akams, Joapet, Simjon, Kraw Leathers,) Jatu Designs, Escon Leather Creations, Gonzala Leathers, Habib Leather Industry and Bessy Bugo Jewellery.
