A Team of three Investors namely Mr. K. O Kane (former Director of TATA-India), Mr. Glory Chen and Mr. George Chen were invited by COMESA-Leather and Leather Products Institute (COMESA/LLPI), as part of the activities of the Institute to enhance investment and trade promotion in the region, arrived to Ethiopia on May 6th, 2013, met the Minister and senior dignitaries both in the public and private sectors to be appraised on the opportunities available in the country.
The Ethiopian Leather Development Institute (the country focal point to COMESA/LLPI) took the pleasure of organizing the visit to different leather enterprises. The Team after a successful field visit and discussions with the Trade and Industry Ministry Officials here in Ethiopia, continued its trip to Kenya for a similar mission, where it will also be awaited a warm welcome on the 10th of May 2013. The Team will meet with leather sector leaders and be provided a forum for discussing leather investment aspects related to the country.
The Director of LLPI will have an opportunity, after their visit, to appraise on their views and potential prospects.
